need more gears!!

need more gears!!

i just got a new diff gear and have come to realize that i need more that 3 gears to even enjoy it over 55 mph haha. do any of you guys know a company that sells 5 or 6 speed trans that works nicely with engine and fits well..(don't mind getting new driveshaft)?

also if anyone is selling something let me know

I assume you are looking for a manual trans? Is the car a manual or automatic currently?

yes i am, and its a auto right now, i don't mind doing extra modifications

That's what I'm going with in the Cutlass. It's a lot cheaper than converting to manual.

I just run mine 3400 RPM @ 65 MPH.

Grab a 200R4 rebuild.

Can be build strong enoughfor behind an Olds, and with a lower 1st gear than the 700R4, a .67 overdrive, and a dual bellhousing bolt pattern, you really can't go wrong IMHO

This is the path I'm currently persuing, swapping out the 2-spd Jetaway for a 200-4R. That should tame the highway RPMs w/ my 3.90 rear gear.
