1962 Dynamic Tranny shifting bad.

I upgraded my carburetor from a 2 barrel to a 4 barrel. My transmission is shifting wrong. How do i adjust the the throttle kick down from the carburetor to transmission. What do i do? Thanks for your help

I thought the 2 bbl and 4 bbl took different length kickdown lever assemblies

Post Look in the book

Assuming that it was shifting correctly with the 2 bbl., and assuming that you exchanged any linkage which was different on the donor vehicle, and didn't do anything else which would affect the transmission, you will need to look in the Oldsmobile Service Manual to learn how to make the adjustment. There was no complete manual for 1962, only a supplement. So you can look in the 1961 manual. The procedure begins on page 3-73. Usually it involves changing the length of one or both T.V. rods. But it's best to follow the complete procedure since you did significant surgery. If you don't have the manual you probably will find it on the Wild About Cars website.

Wink Try the website first

I can, but they will be easier to read on the Wild About Cars website. The home page is:

http://wildaboutcarsonline.com/

The exact download that you need is:

http://wildaboutcarsonline.com/members/AardvarkPublisherAttachments/9990402882688/1961_Oldsmobile_FS_SM_Section_3.3.pdf

Try to get to it first by using the above links. The pages are easy to read. If you can't get it to work, let me know and I will try the photos, but I know that my photos will not be as good as the website.
