Possible for '78 floor shifter in '65 Cutlass

Hello.

Is it possible to install a '78-newer floor shifter into a '65 Cutlass, with the original transmission? How is the cable vs. linkage problem resolved with
connection to the transmission?

Thanks

Don't see a problem with it. Im using a 65 floor shifter with my 2004r Tranny and it hooked right up. No reason why you cant do it the other way around.
