Hey guys,
Can anyone ID this transmission from this picture? I'm thinking it is a hydromatic and trying to find an inspection plate that fits it.The one I have almost fits but it hits the ring gear at the bottom and won't go up to the block to be bolted on.tranny.jpg Here is the pic of the inspection plate that I do have that doesn't fit.cover.jpg

you probably dont feel like counting, but '59 -'60 have 176 teeth on the flywheel ( and i think '57 and '58 do as well but dont quote me) Whats on the riveted tag?

Looks to be a '58 Hydramatic from a cheap 88 car....if it was a Super 88 or 98 you would see OA-58-11219. According to the manual, the plate you got the numbers should be bright yellow..Super 88 and 98 had a light green colored plate..
