Has anyone put a jerico “top loader” behind their olds? I have the chance to get one, it has the 1 3/8’s 10 spline input which looks like it’s also longer then a Muncie/t10 input shaft.

 

I bought mine with the GM 26 spline input and it came about 1/4" longer to work better with an aftermarket bellhousing with block plate. The 1-3/8 is a Ford spline and normally would be shorter in length than GM inputs.

 

The 1 3/8 is supposedly the way to go as far as strength and clutch selection. I am concerned about bellhousing bolt pattern and pilot bearing match up. The tranny is too cheap to pass up but don’t want a hassle to get it to work.

 

For strength, some prefer the Mopar spline but Jerico told me the GM 26 spline is strongest. My Jerico has the Muncie bolt pattern, but Olds housings usually have the inner top loader pattern as well.
