Th425 bell housing

Once again I'm new and have minimal knowledge but seem to be learning a lot. I have a 1970 Toronado and when removing the engine I mangled the bell housing, since I have no knowledge how to weld aluminum I'm wondering what the best way to fix this issue, or if I even have to? A piece the size of a silver dollar cracked off along with one of the mounting eyes. The dowl pins are still there and in good condition to prevent side to side motion and there are at least 3 other mounting holes that seem to be fine! Any suggestions?

Marc

Not pretty but I used jb weld and mixed in very fine steel wool! It was a quick solution as this was not a body off resto. It was strong and I could torque bolts with no loss of strength or cracking! We'll see hope it lasts!

The extent of and location of the damage is important. On most bellhousings, the lower bolts are in tension, the uppers in compression. You can get away with damage to one of the two upper bolt holes, but you almost certainly CANNOT live with a JB weld repair to one of the four lower bolt holes. This is even more important in a Toro since the drive axle forces are reacted through the engine/trans combo, not through a separately-mounted rear axle.
