Recommendations for Hydraulic clutch conversion
Recommendations for Hydraulic clutch conversion
I am looking to switch over my 71 Cutlass to a hydraulic clutch setup and looking for recommendations for kits. I am currently doing an engine build that I am focusing my "customization" time on so looking for something that is as plug and play as possible.
Currently I am considering the American Powertrain kit. Link: https://americanpowertrain.com/shop/...icho-t5-lenco/
Does anyone have experience with it? Any other kit options I should consider?

I have that same kit, but used a different bracket that mounts behind the brake booster, because my firewall was hacked up by a unscrupulous shop. I wish I could have used the APT bracket because it's superior that what I have. I worked with APT a few times via email and over the phone, and it always went smoothly. They appear to be a good company that stands behind their product and provides solid support.
Are you running a factory 4-speed or swapping to a 5 or 6?

I actually just got the setup in the mail and over the holiday's hope to get started on installing it while my engine if out of the car.
One thing you may want to change is the length of the brained line from the master cylinder to the slave/throw out bearing. Mine is excessively long and makes routing it neatly a bit of a hassle. Could easily be 12" shorter and still have enough slack to work with. I wouldn't mess with it till you mock it up first.
