New look to and old shifter
New look to and old shifter
I've been playing around with this Old Hurst Ramrod shifter. Making it a better shifter. This is my prototype i came up with. Did away with the T-Handle Gate Trigger. Replaced with m/c clutch handle. Added pistol Grip
Made straight shift rods w/heim joints on 1-2 3-4 rods. It shifts so easy
than that t handle gate trigger. I've got 4 complete shifters. And enought
parts to build 2 more. It's a poor mans long shifter. Please give me some input.

I'd be interested to know how well it works in the real world. With a Muncie, flat shifting is kinda like a time-bomb----sooner or later it's gonna blow. I have two cars both SBO and Muncies with real good Hurst Competition Plus shifters and until I win the Powerball, I ain't flat-shifting---I have too much money in both drivetrains. My real racing days are behind me. With a Jerico or something like it, flat shifting or not using a clutch at all is a little more tolerant. I have some good friends that have Jericos and both have Long shifters. One held the N.H.R.A. D/S record for two years and the other has a '66 442 that runs 10teens with a BBO.
Let me know the outcome after some street and harder use.
