'57 vs '56 Jetaway

I read too many posts with conflicting information and now totally confused. We have a 1957 Olds with the Jetaway 4-speed transmission on its last legs. We found a '56 Jetaway. Any issues swapping this into the '57? Hollander exchange says no, some forums say no, plenty of others say yes. Anyone know the real story here?

I've owned a '56 and two '57s now. Not an expert on the finer points of the Jetaway, but I'll say this--I think they're mechanically the same transmission. '56 was the first year of the Jetaway and that was a major redesign. I'd say the major difference is the outer stuff like the bell housing. If there was some way you could check and see if the bell housing off your '57 matches up with the bolt holes in the '56 transmission? Good luck out there!
