If I drain the pan on a 400 stock pan how many quarts does it take with convertor full ? I have a flex tube on the 400 trans no stock tube or rod.

 

From the Service Manual:
Approximately four quarts will be required to fill the transmission if the oil pan has been re-moved and drained at the same time that the fluid is changed.
Approximately nine quarts are required after an overhaul.
