Hey all, I am curious as to a few things. First of all it would appear I have a gm 10 bolt in my 66 cutlass, so is it an 8.2", 8.5"? Do i tear apart and measure crown diameter? What would you recommend for rear end gearing? 3.55? 3.73? I see gm 10 bolts have alot of kits to switch crown and pinion gearing.

Probably a Pontiac 8.2 rear, there are parts available for an upgrade.

 

GM made more than one type of 8.2. For instance, Buick had its own unique 8.2 for 1968-70.

 

 

Thanks for the picture, keep forgetting to check it every time I am at the shop now, will have to print the picture and staple it to my forehead.

 

Better bring a mirror in that case.
