Yoke leaking?

Finally got my pan all sealed up. Now it seems I am leaking fluid through the yoke. I have changed the rear seal on the transmission and nothing feels wet all the way back but there is fluid dripping out around the U Joint. It is a turbo 400 transmission out of a 1974 98. Any thoughts or has anyone seen this before?

Hows the fluid level? Over full will do this. So will a plugged vent tube.

If its leaking from inside the yoke, you may need to replace the O-ring on the output shaft (tailshaft).

I'm thinking it's probably the o ring. Will try to get to it this weekend. Will the transmission drain from removing the tail shaft housing?

Some fluid will come out but it won't drain the transmission. The more you raise the back of the car the less fluid will come out.

Remember chock the wheels thoroughly if your counting on the rear wheels to hold anything because once the driveshaft is out Park is useless and the car can roll if the rear wheels are on the ground, a drive-on lift or ramps.
