Would this be a good idea? Put an additional "O" ring at the top below the ridge? Or do you think the dipstick tube wouldn't seat all the way in the transmission? I have one of the "high quality" O ring assortments from Harbor Freight....the o ring that fits the groove seems too skinny. Are all o rings the same thickness? depending on their diameter of course.
Seems like I need a thicker one of that diameter. And yes, it was puking ATF all over my garage floor.
What fun removing that bell housing bolt that the dipstick mounts on.

As long as the o-ring in the middle is a larger diameter than the tube you should be gtg. An o-ring on the end is going to be of minimal use.

You need a slightly thicker O ring on the groove. That top O ring will not do much. If you must do something at the top, a daubed on wipe of RTV might work, but make very sure none of it gets into the trans and use very, very little.

The o-ring in the groove looks to be to thin,the added one may or may not help.Do not use rtv that will not help.
