Transmission mount question

I've been looking for a new transmission mount for my 1972 Cutlass with a th350 transmission.

At the local auto parts store, they asked if I had the M38 or M40 automatic transmission.

Can anybody help with the correct answer?

Thanks in advance.

I believe the M38 is a T350, the M40 is a T400. So yours would be the M38.

Actually, I'm a little confused on this. I've never noticed a difference in trans mounts between a TH350 and TH400, but apparently the P/Ns are different. Anchor 2268 is the TH400 mount (on the left), 2378 is the TH350 mount (on the right). They sure look the same to me.

I don't know either, I think I used a T350 mount with my T400 when I did my swap.

I know I'm a little slow with the reply, but thank you Eric and Joe.

The 350/4speed mount are the same. The 400 is wider between the mounting holes on the transmission. Most mounts now have big enough oval holes that it will fit both. I had an NOS mount for a TH350 and 4 speed and it would not fit my TH400.
Also, Watch out for the parts store replacements. Most of them use metric bolts to mount to the crossmember. If you pick one up check them before going home so you can stop at the hardware store for the new bolts. The one I got from inline tube had standard threads. I took the one from the parts store back because i was not going to use metric bolts in a 40 year old car.
