Trans numbers ? Help..

After trying to clean up years of undersnot on my trans housing I did find some numbers. I naturally know its a 2 speed & i thought it was a switch pitch until i pulled the plug off & only saw one prong on the trans. Then on the passenger side (R) i seen some letters & numbers that read 69 on top & under it MM007 D... Is this a standard run of the mill Pwr Glide & do I even have the correct numbers ? I researched the net & nothing comes up with those numbers, i looked on Oldsmobility & some others. Can anyone help or do i have the wrong numbers ? Thanx a million..

Check the Chassis Service Manuals on Wild About Cars. They have those transmission codes.

Wild About Cars. http://wildaboutcars.com. An information supersource, especially Oldsmobile. More Olds content than anywhere else on the internet and continuing to grow.
You'll find Chassis Service Manuals, Product Information Manuals (AKA Assembly Manuals), Inspector's Manuals, and other documents that will contain this and much much more.
Dealer Brochures, magazine ads and articles, and a home page for you online with your own garage where you can show off what you have.

without checking numbers, and assuming it's not a switch pitch, i would say it's a run-o-the-mill 2 speed sour slide. call it what you want, a 2 speed is a 2 speed, especially without the switch pitch converter. ST-300, Jetaway, Powerglide....basically all the same. they may be "technically" different, but basically the same.

buick, olds & pontiac called them ST-300, Jetaway & Automatic, respectively.

chevy used a different mechanical design, and called it the PowerGlide.

but again, they are all just 2 speeds. the switch pitch option is actually just the converter.

All that being said u are 100% correct, buy id still rather have a functioning Switch Pitch then the slush box that is pulling it now..Back in the day I had a few pwr glides but at least i had them backed up with big rear gears & it worked breat. The 12 bolt in this thing isnt full of gears for sure so its a starting out in second basically kinda car & at 3300 lbs or so thats a dog....Thanx for the help..
