I found a seller on craigslist who is selling a trans for a good price. He said it was out of a 68 cutlass, but it just came out of a 69 chevy c-10? Does that sound correct? This trans should fit a 72 cutlass correct? 68-72 where pretty much the same parts wise.

I don't know what answer you got from that, but a trans from a 1972 Chevy truck has two problems. First, it has a Chevy bellhousing, not BOP. Second, it will be a long tail TH350.
