switching from a turbo350 tranny to a 200r4?

I have a 1980 oldsmobile regency 98 and it has the olds 350 with a turbo 350 3 speed, I would like to get the 200r4 tranny with the drive shaft and other components necessary from a 1984 oldsmobile regency 98. I am just wondering if you guys have any advice or pointers? Thank you.

Yeah. Type "200-4R" into the search function on this site. This has been covered many times here. One note on your 98, however. You will need a correct 200-4R crossmember from a mid-1980s version of the B-body with a 200-4R. The wagons are probably your best bet since they used the 307/200-4R combo until 1990.

So the 84 olds 98 wouldn't have the crossmember?

Any B/C body with a 200-4R does have the correct crossmember.

Be sure to get the tv cable, and associated carb brackets for it. You need this to have the trans live.

Make certain you get a good HD rebuild on that 2004r or it will die shortly.
