Shifter linkage on 64 442

Shifter linkage on 64 442

The shifter linkage is rubbing together, i am not sure if i need to rebuild the shifter or it is hooked up wrong. Has anyone else run into this?

The bushings are probably worn. If you can push the rods up and down easily then they are worn. Some bushings are nylon and others are metal.
