Just had to replace a shift shaft seal on the side of a TH400. I found that they make a tool to remove it very easily. I was having fits getting the old one out and my transmission guy told me about this. With this tool it is a 5 minute job. Without this tool it can be a couple hours trying to pick it out and riks damaging the shaft. If you have never done one, the seal is to small to drill a hole in and use a screw like can be done on bigger seals. This tool is only $7 at NAPA.

Yup, that's a tool to have but I have a Snap On and paid double the price.
