shift cable to shift select shaft question

What connects the shift cable to the gear select shaft on the trans. I have a TH400 with floor shift. There is a small bolt like shaft that has a flat (retangular) land on it htat is on the side of the transmission. I have the cable and bracket to mount it to the pan, but what connects the cable to the trans mission. I have been looking at venodirs for some kind of shift lever, but can't seemto find one. Any pictures of how they connect would be great. Where can I get the part I need?
