Cool reproduction of 70 442 hurst shifters

Has anyone purchased one of the reproduction console hurst 4 speed competition plus shifters sold by the Parts Place Inc. They have been running them on ebay, buy it now, for a few weeks. They are running it as a hurst but in the description of the shifter they say it is the correct looking hurst shifter. No where in the photo can you see Hurst,a patent # or a part # This particular shifter is not offered through hust because original it was a joint effert patented through Hurst and manufactured by Olds/GM as a dealer item. I have sent two different emails to the parts place asking if it is a true Hurst patented shifter and have gotten no response. I am thinking this is a Taiwan look alike at an over and above hust price, even though one of the salesmen I called at the Parts Place said it was a Hurst but had no info on how or where it is built. I would pay the $ if its a quality shifter but not getting that feeling from the supplier.

It is a chinese knock off....all of their parts are made in china.

Do yourself a favor and buy and original base (3138) and handle (7169).

Have the base rebuilt by Hurst, and rechome the handle. You will be better off in the long run.

I always refurbish original GM parts over repops. The quality and metal is always superior.

As I expected. They are playing games with words trying to pass these off as a quality Hurst product. I will find an original or get a new Hurst competition plus, rework the handle accordingly an re chrome
