Rebuild or not?

I was wanting to get some thoughts as to rebuild my stock transmission with a shift kit for around $560 or so or just go over to Jegs and pick up this transmission? http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/60300/10002/-1
Just want to know what you guys would do. Thanks

Your talking a $100 differance I would just go with the Jeg's trany. Because if you count in time spent rebuilding one that alone would be worth at lest a $100.00. But if you want to rebuild it they are not to bad to do. I bought a book on them and went to town rebuilding a couple of them. Good luck.

Does the 560 include a tq conv. I don't believe the price of the Jegs one does and add shipping on top of that.

I remember the good old days when you could get on done for less then 200.

I live 5 min from Jegs so shipping is not an issue. Will I need to get a new Torque converter?

No transmission shop or company will warranty a transmission that was not installed with a new converter. (15 years ago so they may have corrected the issues)

I have never used a Jegs tranny but my personal experience with TCI transmissions was I had to warranty a bunch of them.
I would trust a local performance builder with a great reputation over the assembly line jegs unit personally.
