Question: Hurst Straight Stick Shifter

Hi,

I've been looking for any information related to this and I'm having a hard time returning anything. Forewarning, I apologize in advance that I may not be up to date with the shorts or the abbreviations.

I have two Hurst Straight Shifter Sticks, which is about 21.5" - 22" with 4186 on it.
Years ago, somewhere between 1971 to 1975 I received this in a trade for detail work on a different vehicle, at the time i had 1963 Chev.

The buddy that I received it from worked at the Hurst Co manufacturing plant on Street Rd, Warminister, PA. Since then its closed down and changed hands. The sticks I received went into storage and I completely forgot about them until I went into storage recently. I've attached images of one of them, from sitting in storage this one does have some rust and damage to it, the other one is in very good condition.

I'm just having a hard time coming up with any information related to these and I don't know if they are custom or not. Any information would be greatly appreciated and I'm thankful for everyone's time.

The parts you have are referred to as a shifter "stick" aand some were bolt on (like yours) and others were retained with a clip. I can't place the application for this stick but there were quite a few shifters that were provided as OEM items to a few of the auto companies. Some were even truck applications. If I had to make a guess, I would say it was an OEM truck application. Can I ask who your buddy is and when he worked there? I worked there from 81-84. You can PM me his name if you don't want to put it out there publically.

Thank you, I'll fix the first post to read stick instead of rod. I'll also private message you the name.
