noise from th350 trans ?

noise from th350 trans ?

It's a 67 442 with a 1971 455ci and TH350 trans with a stall speed converter drives - shifts fine fluid is clean- level no noise in park- neutral put in reverse or drive makes load winey noise rev motor alittle it go's away no noise while driving checked vaccum mod and line are good could it be the stall converter ? thanks

The noise sounds like the converter or the front pump is going bad. You may want to check the line pressure on the transmission to see if it within specs. I have a 53 Merc that makes a similar noise, usually the suspect is the converter. I describe the noise as "marbles in the converter"

You might want to check the converter to flex plate mounting bolts/nuts for proper torque.
