NEED HELP !!!

hey gues i got an 85 442 and today i went outside and seen some trans fluid under the passenger side of the vehicle and after looking at it i found it to be a LINE running to the trans was actually rubbing the exhaust, so my questions is what is that line and wat to do about it? second question is what trans fluid should be used to refill cause its very low?

It's a transmission cooler line. You need to fix it so you won't lose all your trans fluid if it wears a bigger hole in it. You can either get another line from a junk car or splice a repair into the one you have. Repairing your line is easiest and cheapest option. You can get a piece of steel line with fittings at about any parts store, then cut it, install fitting on the existing line, and button everything up.

Needs to be bent away from exhaust pipe too so 1) won't do it again and 2) eliminate fire hazard of trans fluid hitting a hot pipe.

Your car uses Dexron III transmission fluid.

don't run it with "very low" tranny fluid.

Keep the line away from heat sources! This may burn your car, lead it away and you should be ok. It got there in the first place, so it's a good idea to check on it every now and then.
