hey old's nation!!!!! i am looking at a muncie 4 speed and these are the numbers he gave me. Cover #3884685, Tail # 3857584, Main # 3851325. also i am looking at two muncie tranny's and one has straight rods on the shifter and the other has bent rods(hurst). is that ok. need help as soon as possible. don't want them to get away. thanks

 

those numbers don't tell me anything as to whether it is a M20, M21, or M22. now days the only way to know for sure which one it is , is to take the side cover off and count the teeth and the cut of the gear. so many people over the years have changed guts in them, so numbers on the case don't mean that the guts will match. i got one that the guy said was a M21 and promised to it. i got it home just to find out that someone put M20 guts in it. i was lucky because he took it back. there is a big price difference between the 3 of them.

 

Case # 3851325 makes it a 64-65 model year transmission.
