You're not going to like what I'm about to tell you......

Most Oldsmobiles came with auto trans'..... so on many, there is no provision in the back of the crankshaft for a pilot bushing.

If by some luck, you do have a manual trans crank, your block may not have the boss on it to accept the manual linkage.

On a 455, the F block has the manual provision on the block, on an FA block, it does not.

I'm not sure about the small blocks.

As far as the bellhousings and scattershields go, they have the patterns for Muncies and Ford top loader transmissions. Other transmissions such as the Jerico have the Muncie pattern and will fit. There are "conversion" bearings to put a pilot bearing into an automatic crank without removing it and having it bored for the correct bearing; results and longevity of the conversions are open to argument. . .

Ok. Would it just be easier to do a full manual valve body auto than to get a manual trans to bolt to a block?

What about a hydraulic clutch? You wouldn't need to worry about having bosses in the block. I have no idea.

A manual Caddy would be sweet.

Yea definitly would be sweet but thinking bout just a manual valve auto at this point and b and m have shifter that looks like a 4 speed stick so will probably do that and save the headache
