I received a free Trans
My Brother surprised me today with a Transmission. He knew I was looking for one and bought one for me. I am very appreciative but I think it is the wrong type. I myself may be wrong. I am sill learning about classic olds parts. The bell housing looks right but the markings from my understanding are wrong or not where they suppose to be. So my question is will this fit a 68-72 350 Rocket?

It may also be a light duty TH250C. Check for a band adjustment bolt near the cooler lines. With the convertor locked, it runs 2-300 rpm lower. You need a lock up convertor, they are different.

Its a 350 it has 13 bolts. The drive shaft that came with my Olds fits the tail, so that a good sign. I would like to know what year and model this came out of.

It is a TH250C, 81-86? A good light duty trans. I got 400,000 km out of one behind an Olds 307 and 350. I put behind a 403 thinking it was a TH350C, smoked pretty quick. Behind a stock 350 it may last a long time.

GM saved eight dollars by reducing the number of clutches, pistons, etc. per unit on the 250. Sell a million cars, that is eight mil. These pieces may be added on a rebuild thus converting a unit into a regular 350. Something to consider.

I could not find it. The only numbers I found on the trans are on the pic posted above. But I decided to just keep the trans for a core if I ever need one in the future. But I think that it is a 83 BOP TH350c with electronic lockup convertor.
