Post Help decoding my TH 400

Own a 1968 Olds with a Turbo Hydramatic 400, (connected to a 455).
On the riveted plate it besides the serial nbr id's OG-68. Could anyone please tell me what OG stands for?

Thanks in advance

OG is just the code for that particular trans internal configuration. Other two letter codes were used for other transmission applications. In your case the OG indicates that it is the correct trans for a 442 and the 68 indicates that it is from the 1968 model year, so it is likely the original trans for your car.
