which is a better 6 speed ratio?
Hey guys, I am thinking of doing a fun project with my boys. I want a 30's to early 40's olds coupe to turn into a hot rod. I have been looking at a 6 speed t56 transmission to use in this application. I am thinking of using 3:42 ratio for a rear end, here is the transmission ratio's
2.66/1.78/1.30/1.00/.80/.62
or
2.97/2.07/1.43/1.00/.74/.50
I will be using a 350 SBO, around 350 hp and hope torque to be about the same or more. Thanks for your input

The first one with a 3.73. I have 3.42 gears with the .68 OD with my 2004R, I run at 1850 at 100 km/hr with a 25.6" tire. You have a higher ratio and depending on the tire size, it may lug.
