i got an 86 cutlass supreme brougham 307 olds motor and a th250 the previouse owner installed now i hat the turbo250 if i was to put anouther auto in it id get a 700r4 but im not an automatic person i verymuch dislike automatics so i wanted to convert it to a 4 or 5 speed

now i know i got to get the pedl assembly zbar and all the brakets and i found a kit for about 250 that has all that

and ill have to get a starter flywheel clutch pressurplate throw out bearing and piolet bearing

my question is ware ad how much can i get a trans/ bell housing or what cars i pull them from in the junk yard

can i use my stock crossmember? i know the th200 250 350 and 700r4 all work with this crossmember

and will my stock driveshaft work

also does anyone know if the stock 86 307 with 7a heads has the crank shaft drilled for a piolet bearing

any help links anything is aprishiated

I would first pick the transmission that would go in... And then go from there. Certain things like a BOP bell housing for a common trans like say the borg warner t5 shouldn't be too hard to find. I however would not bet on finding it in a junkyard. More like ebay or straight from whoever makes it. Then the crossmember... I wouldn't bet on being able to use it. Perhaps there was a g-body like a chevy that used the t5 you could source parts from, but I'm not sure. Your driveshaft will definitely require modification. Not sure if the 307 has a pilot hole, sorry. Good luck with your project sounds like it will be fun when its all done.
