62 F-85-need to know what trans?

Does anyone know what transmission came in a 1962 F-85 Cutlass convertible? And, did GM use these transmissions in other models, such as Buick or Pontiac?

I have heard that the transmissions were not real reliable, but want to make this one all original show quality.

Thanks for any and all your input?

If you are speaking of the automatic transmission, it was a Roto hydramatic 5, also known as F85 slim jim.

According to my book it was only used in the 1961-63 Olds F-85.

Charlie says so to.

Yes, the Roto 5 was only used in F-85's. The Roto 10 (big car slim jim) was used in Oldsmobiles and some Pontiacs from 61-64. Doubt they have many common parts.
