Have a steady leak in my hydromatic. I've pulled the tranny on it twice now, 1st time assuming a blown gasket, bought the kit from FATSCO and replaced all of the seals in gaskets in the tranny from the bellhousing back. No cracks or anything unusual observed. Put back in...Continues to leak
Pulled tranny again yesterday after some research and thought it may be from in front of flywheel where I didnt realize there was another gasket, pulled it out, fresh seal applied, new locktight on bolts, tranny put back on....and again still a leak. a steady one at that. Lets say a quart an hour while running
So where else can we be missing or be common to have a leak of that magnitude. Tranny is shifting fine and not having any issues besides the drip.

Does it leak when it is cold? Sometimes cracks in cases will only leak when warmed up because the case expands. Have you tried a leak detector die?

I haven't no. The hardest part is that the car is lowered all around so you can't see when just on level ground, and when jacked up you can't start it to tell where thanks to the cross member and the cast iron caseing that surrounds the flywheel. It does take a few minutes to start leaking, but once it starts it gets going pretty rythmatically.
