200-4r

200-4R shifts early, even at WOT. Shifts into O/D by 30 mph with normal take off (1/4 to 1/2 throttle) At WOT, upshifts at 2500 rpm no matter what. TV cable adjusted umpteen times. WOT, no slack in TV cable. Shifts smooth. Trans is fresh.
Governor? Good source for one that will improve shifting? 57 Chevy with mild ( maybe 225 hp) 283, 3.36 rear, stock TQ convertor.

Thanks

Yes governor. Try to get one from either a Monte Carlo SS or a GN. You'll need to use the corresponding springs and valve body for best results though.

In my opinion, the OZ code transmissions have the best shifting pattern. These were from 84 Hurst Olds and 85 Olds 442's.

That sure sounds like a pressure issue. I had one shift at 3000 rpm WOT, I have never seen shift at 2500 rpm. My current one slid through the gears, found out the Dualjet is not the same geometry as the Qjet or at least this late 70's version. It still shifts in OD at 60 km/hr with full pull. I would hated it in my 70S, forgot how shitty stock they shifted, 4000 WOT. I would add the big Transgo or CK Performance shift kit and GN or Monte SS governor as well or grind your current one, CK should have one. By using the springs in the shift kit, it changes part throttle shifts. I would put a gauge on it first and foremost.
