1970 sx trans code

Did the 1970 Cutlass SX transmission have it's own code tag? Or was it the same as the 442? Thanks

There were two versions of the T400 transmission in 1970 for the SX, depending which version of the 455 was in the car. The 2bbl and the 4bbl big car version of the 455 had the OD code, while the 442 W32 version had the 442 OG model. The OG version had differences in the valve body, presumably for quicker od firmer shifts than the OD version.

Rocketbrian is correct. L-33 and L-31 cars had the OD code, W-32 got the OG (same drivetrain as the non-W-30 442).

Same drivetrain as the 442, except for the internal regulated alternator. I guess when Oldsmobile said it was an exclusive 442 feature, it meant only the 442. Even if the exact same drivetrain was installed in a Cutlass SX W-32. Did not mean to side track posting, just an interesting tidbit.
