1968 Manual Transmission Bell Housing Inspection Cover

What is the correct finish for a 1968 Olds Cutlass S 4 speed bell housing inspection cover? Is it supposed to be painted a satin black (semi-gloss)? And is this spelled out in the Assembly Manual somewhere? Because if it is, I can't seem to find it.

It wouldn't have been spelled out in the assembly manual bcause the part would have come to the assembly plant painted already. The original ones I've seen all appear to be painted by "dipping" them the way the rest of the engine bay parts were painted. That being the case the best spray can match to that is the Krylon semi-flat.

Thanks Mike. I figured it was some sheen of black similar to the engine compartment.
