1962 Oldsmobile F-85 Transmision swap?

Hello,

I am having issues with both of my transmissions on my 1962 olds f85. Does anyone have any advice on a different transmission i can use? Thanks for all your help!

Best Regards,

Jason

This comes up a lot. Unfortunately, the 215 has a unique bellhousing and the 61-63 cars have tiny tunnels. The Rotohydramatic5 is a very small transmission. D&D sells an adapter plate to let you use a modern GM automatic, but you'll need to cut and weld the tunnel as well as build a custom driveshaft. Or, you can convert to a manual trans. The T5 is a nice swap into these cars.

Thank You

Thank you Joe!So it would be easier to do a manual transmission than a TH350? That would be great! I prefer Manual. All the help is greatly appreciated!

Well, if you can source a complete factory setup, the 4spd is a bolt-in. Alternately, D&D sells new aftermarket bellhousings. Depending on which T5 you select, you may or may not need an adapter plate, which they also sell. This bellhousing will work with the stock clutch linkage or with a hydraulic TOB.
