Hi, I am working with a guy to install 12v linear actuators to replace the cans. I have two sets of cans not working and I figured that if I rebuilt them they'd break again. If I get them working I will take pics and post. Several sites online sell weatherproof actuators with various strengths and lenghths.

2blue442 (John) might have what you need; he was parting out a Toro of that vintage a month ago or so; I think it was a 66...

Hi Sborrusso,
If you are still looking answers, Ken Hitchcock at chocksett@comcast.net is rebuilding them. His number is 978 422 6390.

I just saw the headlights in action. The 12V linear actuators work great. The guy doing my body work fabricates some mounting brackets with threads on one end. They are totally adjustable so I can aim the headlights. They no longer rely on the vacuum. I got actuators that are "weather proof" and will hold a 500lb static load. I think they will hold up as I drive over the years but only time will tell. When I can take pics I will.
