A great opportunity for '66 to '70 Toronado owners in the LA area.

The ArtCenter College of Design, a world renown school for automotive design, is having an event to celebrate the designers that came from their school. They are looking for cars to show at this event that their graduates worked on. One of the cars they're looking for is a '66 to '70 Toronado. They are looking for a show worthy car and one that is not modified. One that shows the work the original designer did, not the many owners after that. The event is happening at the Pasadena campus of the Art Center.

A family friend of mine is organizing this event. Here is what she has to say about it-

"The Oldsmobile Toronado we hope to have at the show is a 1966-1970. The show will be at our hillside campus in Pasadena on Sunday sept 28 from 10am-2pm set up 7-8:30. With continental breakfast exhibitor and guest. No cost to exhibitor. It’s part of our alumni weekend this year."

They are collecting other cars for the event, but this is the Oldsmobile they want. I don't know who is showing up, it could be very interesting if you're into automotive history and where it's going in the future.

PM me if you're interested and what participate with your beautiful Toronado. I will connect you with the actual person. I'm just the family friend go between. This is totally legit and a UNIQUE show event. This is not a typical Cars and Coffee, or even regular car show.

Hi Daiv8or

Thank you very much for posting this. We were able to provide a member of the Toronado and Aurora Chapter of the Oldsmobile club of America to attend the event. The show was well attended and David North's designs of both the 63 Riviera and 66 Toronado were well represented. Both of these cars were driven by a stage were discussions focused on the cars and why the owners chose to own them. Our chapter goes back to 1985 when Ralph Braun spearheaded OCA to create this Specialty Chapter for Toronados. Later on Ralph added the Aurora models to the chapter. Our newsletter covered the show and some information about the ArtCenter and David North. I will be happy to send you a copy as a thank you for posting the information. As soon as I read your post, I knew about it because I attended a Cadillac event there some time back and worked to find a nice car and owner to attend. Trent

This photo shows the 66 Toronado waiting to circle to the right and stop in front of the stage. The arrow shows the extensive crowd of attendees. Note: The owner of the 66 has reproduction "TFD" tires on the car with a narrow whitewall.

Thank you again, Trent
