Wiring diagrams

Can anyone provide some input on wiring diagrams for a 1966 Toronado? I'm having serious electrical issues and need one that am confident is accurate. I have the Chassis Service Manual, but cannot seem to find a wiring diagram in it, which I thought was included. My 77 pontiac service manual has wiring diagrams. Maybe that was something that came later. Anyway can someone point me to either the service manual I need to purchase to get a wiring diagram, or a reputable aftermarket company the makes accurate diagrams, I was looking at classic auto wire, but would prefer an OEM manual if one can be had. What are people's experience with the classic wire color diagrams? Thanks in advance for the inputs.

Sooo...I saw another post where someone provided a copy of the OEM wiring diagram. Section 12-E of the 94 and 96 series service manual. Obviously I missed it. It's a single page, and not very easy to read. But I have one. Thanks.

Presumably the Figure 12E-2 Wiring Diagram in the CSM is as good as it gets. Yes, the print is on the small side, but a magnifying glass or your cell phone should make a difference. Good luck.

Give us an idea of the electrical issues you're having. There are enough 1st-generation Toronado people here that we may have seen it before, and I know one of them had to make significant electrical repairs.

The Toronado electrics are no more complicated than, say, a loaded 88 or Ninety Eight, but they sometimes tend to get buggered up almost as bad as a musclecar era Chevrolet by people who don't take the time to understand the E-car wiring.

The Toronado information is in an appendix in the very back of the 1966 Chassis Service Manual. If you have a copy or a PDF, chances are that was not included. This is again why I say only buy an original paper copy.

I found that redrawing the wiring diagram, using only the circuit you're concerned about, was the best way to understand what is being presented. There's a lot of information there and it's confusing to look at, especially when just getting started. Using this method helped me immensely with my '66 Toro.

My Toro had a significant fire under hood a few years back and I had to track down a bunch of faults. It didn't help though that the '66 wiring diagram is full of errors. The '67 wiring diagram fixed many of the mistakes that made it into the '66 CSM
