ok here's my hole!....

Since my 70 toro came without an interior mirror and now I'm having trouble finding the correct one, it occurred to me to post a pic of what I got so everyone can see, I've talked and shared pics with buick farmer who's parting a 67-8 delta and a 66 toro...he posted pics mine looks different, as in actual finished hole, a 1 piece windshield interior molding that does'nt look like it was ever covered by a mirror base...also talked to Rocwal(dan) who's parting a 70 98 his looks like the delta pics....So before I go and buy the wrong one I'll look for imput from you guys...is this a standard hole for a 70 toro or is this some optional hole that a different than common mirror goes in or did a 70 toro's mirror glue to the windshield and then70 toro mirror hole0001.jpg a light and visor clip went in hole what?...thanks now...cliff

1970 Toronado inside mirror mounts to the windshield like later cars. I think it was the first GM car to have it.

What you have there is a visor retainer/map lamp that is missing its bezel and lens. I see those more on Buicks than I do Oldsmobiles.

sure thing - so on the 70 mirror, google chrome has a cool feature to enlarge / zoom any webpage (ctrl + +) and from what I can see this might have been an option, I see different mountings on the few I see when I googled 1970 Toronado

well, maybe maplight and windshield mount mirror came with strato bucket interior upgrade as a package,What I'm farmiliar with on the mirror mount is called a button on the windshield side, retangular shaped with round edge on top, mines got a little round (button) thing at the end of mirror bracket nothing on windshield and p.o. tried to glue that on windshield, so unless that's an early version It's been altered....I've only dabbled in google chrome and got to get my *** to work so I'll check that out later...thanks again...cliff

Do you still need this ? I just posted parts from a 70 Toronado GT that I'm parting out, in the parts for sale section.
