I just purchased a 69 Toro this past summer and have been looking for a driver side door latch. So far I have not had any luck. I found this great website called Rock Auto, and they seem to have everything except door latches. Question is: Can I use a different latch from a different manufacturer or same manufacturer but different year?

Yes, some items are difficult to find. First, welcome to our site. I would look at other Toronados or B body cars that are as close to yours (year) as possible. You could probably get one from a salvage yard at a reasonably price and with some measurements, and perhaps a few photos of your original you could increase your chances of getting a good part.

 

There was a 69 Toro in our local yard two weeks ago. If you'd like, I can go and check it out for you. I know the motor and trans is gone.
