carburetor list

Hi

I'm looking for a list of where all carburetor stand on it.
With the original Jets, needles, etc.

I want to know what Original jets, needles had my carburetor.
Does anyone have it? Or does anyone know anything?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks, I'll see if it fits.

Edit:

I have it looked at. Is very interesting, but does not have the data I want.
I need main jets, needles and secondarys.

What model of carburetor? What year? As Joe P. would say, the mind-reading thing still isn't working.

I copied some pages out of an old Delco carb book, from around 69-73 or so. They break down all the component parts. Do you have a particular carb# or a year?

I bought 3 very thick binders of all Rochester carbs, parts, bulletins etc. a few years back. It has full parts list for every carb through 1979...even those used on tractors and boats. But as BlackGold stated, what is the carb number (runs vertically on the drivers side back near the secondaries) and your make model and year. Without that, no one can answer your question.

Some of the Rochester books (Roe, Ruggles) have this information too, I think.

Sorry, I thought there is a general list.

My carburetor is a Rochester R4 - 4MV. (At least according to my no.)´67 carb with the Nr. 7027156.
And my carburetor nr. is not near the secondary.I do I attach a picture.
I hope the information is enough.

@455man: I know this list. They do not help me. Since my carburetor is not on it.

The carbs jets and rods are selected to best match the car it is going into. The things they considered would be the weight of the car, the gearing, the engine, the transmission, the cam, compression, etc., so unless this carb is correct for the car and engine, it might be way off.

What are the particulars on the make, model, year, engine etc. you want to use this on? Most Q-jets can be set up to work with a particular car, even if it is not original to that car. If the number you provided is correct, then it was from a 1967 car, but off the top of my head, I don't remember what brand is the 156 without consulting the books.

I thought I just read a thread about that NOT being the carb number. All Q-jets I know have the number stamped vertically as per the very poor picture.

I know and I have a '67 olds 98.
So it is the right carburetor. but I do not know if it's the original carburetor.
I also thought that the number is usually at the secondary jets.
What I have now? Original or not?

If I have time, I will clean the carburetor. And if I know what needles and jets
the carburetor original has, can I check if it fits the same.

That's why I need the list.

Sorry. Since I had a 71, I only copied pages that covered 70 -72 and I've lost touch with the guy who had that huge Delco carb binder.

Thanks for the list.
( 1 ) ....................... ( 2 )........ ( 3 )........ ( 4 ) .....( 5 )... ( 6 ).... ( 7 )
400/425 w/o A.I.R...7027156....7031971....7031844- "44"...7033655- "AU"

After the carb number that would be the right one.
But can you tell me the list in more detail?

( 1 ) Is the engine information. Clear!
( 2 ) is the Carb number. Clear!
( 3/4 ) What is this Number? Order Nr.?
( 5 ) The size of the Metering Rods.
( 6 ) ? The same as no. 3/4.
( 7 ) The size of the Secondary rod

Are Nr. 3,4,6 carbs nr. too?

I need also jet nr. Are the also in the list?

3, 4, and 6 are the part numbers:

3 is the primary jet part number (7031971 is a 71 jet)
4 is the primary rod part number (7031844 is a 44 rod)
6 is the secondary rod part number

To further clarify, in a brief moment of cleverness, clarity and vision, the PN composers actually used the last two digits of JET and NEEDLE PN's for the size of the "business end" of the part, in thousandths of an inch. I.e., the 7031971 part [ordering] number, which we all colloquially refer to as a "number 71 jet" has a hole 0.071" in diameter. And the "44" rod's tip is 0.044" diameter.

In going over various carbs and listings and rebuilding the QJet for my 403 I noticed that USUALLY the difference between jet and needle is right about 0.030" or thirty in part number-speak. Here we see 71-44 = 27 difference, and one carb I noticed it was as low as 20, but that may have been non-stock, and it was 1980's and broken and donating the rods or jets I needed for the 403 so I did not care.

Prior to 1968, your QJet carb application was reverse-stamped into a 3/4" or so round tag pressed into the LH side near the front as your carb shows. The 2-bbl carbs got a triangular metal TAG with reverse-stamped info, secured to one of the air horn screws, and routinely discarded as useless by the first idiot to work on the carb, thus rendering it forever an unknown guess-carb.

1968 and after, the exact-app number was stamped as recessed characters into the body material, LH side, aft corner, as is most commonly seen. So, your carb looks correct so far.

The '156 application as set forth above appears to describe your car so it looks like you have the original carb or a nearly identical copy.

Yeah, this is nice. Must have been a different group that was responsible for the secondary rods.
