New Shocks.

Good morning all,

Just after a little advice re shocks from those that know. My 59/98 Holiday Coupe is in need of new shocks as it handles like a boat. The ones on there at the moment are a gold colour but thats all I know and not sure if originals or not.

The thing is I have been looking at Kanters and U.S Parts supply at their shocks. I am after opinions on Kanters 1) Gas charged shocks they appear to be a standard type, 2) Pleasure ride (wondering if they are like a Sensatrack) and the 3) Extra Heavy Duty Gas Charged Shocks that have the 1 3/8 pistons and 5/8 shafts. Are any of these really adequate?

My other option is to take a front and rear one off and take it to a suspension place here and try to match it.

What are your thoughts and what would you choose? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
John.

I've heard nothing but good on the KYB gas shocks.
Also had some luck myself with the polyurethane sway bar bushings and end links.
Although on a suburban, when your 15 yr old kid notices it, you know you did something right!
Straightened that boat right out, and had more weight than yours!!

Shock reply

Thanks for that, I'll be taking a front and rear out to match them at a suspension place see what they come up with. Not that I care what colour I get but we have a lot of the black ones here are they silver or white, the ones you have used in the states? Thanks.
