Energy Suspension end links

has anyone had to cut thier end link spacers down to fit?
No#1 the bolts are short need at least another 1/2 to get the bolt on it....

No#2 even if I had the 1/2 inch it is way out it seems the whole thing needs to come closer to the front end on the top... it is pretty close to the castle nut on the upper ball joint

First, be sure the clamps that hold the sway bar to the frame are loose when you do this. Second, be sure the two lower control arms are at the same height. I've had this happen a lot, where it seems like the second link won't go together.

Mine were tight like that also. If I remember right I used a large 'C' clamp to compress the whole thing so I could get the nut on.

The general rule of thumb is that when the car's on a level surface, the ends of the sway bar are horizontal to the ground. So the end links need to be a certain length. I'm sure you can fudge that a little, but too much can adversely effect the bar's ability.

I'm not sure Energy Suspensions' listing for the end links are correct, they do seem too long. The heim setup on my LeMans are shorter, that's for sure. I'll be checking the length of mine on the 72 in a week or two, can post again with the findings.

It makes it harder to install the end links when the wheels are 'drooped' while the car's jacked up. Try jacking the car from under the control arm and from behind the wheel. Best is to have it on a drive-on rack.

And Joe is correct, you have to loosen the bar mounts, or even take them off all the way and 'tip' the bar onto the bolts (sometimes). I know that's how the factory one had to come off on the 72...
