jetstar1 rear suspension

Ok the 64 jetstar 1 project is underway. I've got everything figured out for the front half of the car but nowhere on the back half. Is the suspension of a B body like mine compatible or at least close to anything with better aftermarket availability? For now I will just box the control arms and see about some good bushings but I either need to find quality aftermarket components or I will fab my own arms. Complete transparency, I have not put a tape on anything on the back half to see if it is close to A body components. Car will see regular abuse from a 900 lb-ft duramax with drag radials and some track time with a 10'' slick.

There are no aftermarket suspension options for the 61-64 Olds full size cars. The frame and suspension is completely different from those on other B-body cars of that vintage. Chevy parts do not interchange. You'll either need to fab your own parts or back-halve the car.

Spohn Performance lists upper and lower tubular control arms for these cars, at least on their website:

Rear Suspension 1961-1964 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88, Super 88 & Jetstar 88 (spohn.net)

Wow! That's new. I'm surprised.

Spohn rear control arms

I saw this thread and I contacted Spohn. I’ve used their parts before. Great parts and price. They weren’t sure if the control arms were the same size, but they could make them to whatever dimensions I sent them. I’ll let everyone know when I get my car out of storage next week. Here are the dimensions for the rear control arms they have for Oldsmobiles.

Uppers: 16.375” center to center

Lowers. 18.375” center to center

Width: 2.76”
