upper control arm bushings

upper control arm bushings

I just replaced all my ball joints and upper and lower control arm bushings. Is there a tourqe spec for tighting up the upper and lower control arms. the side bolts on the top upper control arm. sorry the car is a 1970 cutlass s

Here you go, right out of the 1970 Olds CSM. NOTE: the * is with the weight of the car on suspension

Full weight on the car prior to tightening is CRITICAL to the life of the bushings. This puts the bushings in the proper position with a neutral torsion under most conditions instead of being under torsion all the time. BTW I am not anything close to an engineer but "neutral torsion" just sounded cool. It may even be a newly discovered oxymoron?
