They look fine to me. All the Delta's seemed to have the slightly nose down attitude in 78/79. As long as the suspension is working fine and you're not routinely bottoming out, your springs are probably still in good shape.

The front/rear tires on the Delta and Ninety Eight were consistently the same from front to back. I had 215/75/15 front and 215/75/15 back on my 83 Ninety Eight.

One of the reasons your ride looks like it has a wrong springs is the tire size. If you compare the aspect of 215/75/15 (688.5mm) to 225/60/16 (676.4mm)? Your wheels and tires will net -1.8% LESS in diameter than stock and will also result in a slight speedometer error.

good answer, thanks... so the 215/75/15" is the orginal wheel dim? i have 275/60/15" rear wheels,, the car is more on the nose down yes, maybe i should have a little bigger front tires or something..but i like the look on the car like it is now.

here in mine country we can have + - 5% wheel dim from the orginal wheel dim.

Olds offered 2 wheel/tire sizes for 79 Delta. 205/75/15 and 215/75/15. Either way you compare them, the 60 series you have will be slightly smaller OD. Even with that difference though you will be within the 5% you're allowed.

The original tires could have been either 205/75-15 or 215/75-15. The 215/75-15s are 27.7" (703mm) in diameter. The 225/60-15s on the front are only 25.7" (651mm) in diameter - a full 2" (50mm) smaller than original, or a 7.5% difference in diameter (Allan, better check your math). THAT'S why they look funny.

By the way, the 275/60-15s are just about 28" in diameter, so while slightly larger than original, they are well within the 5% requirement.

Allan, he says he is running a 275/60/15. I think that tire would actually be a little taller than stock. Isn't the middle number the ratio of width to sidewall? If so, 275 mm x .60 = 165 mm whereas 215 mm x .75 = 161 mm. His tire should be 8 mm taller than stock. Unless I don't know what I'm talking about, which is entirely possible.

hehehe :P ok to know that my rear tires is almost the stock dim then

maybe i could go up to 255/60/15" in front tires later if it`s clearence.

i use 8" rim in front with 4bs on 225/60/15" looks a little funny when i have big rear wheels but what ever

Either 255/60-15 or 235/70-15 will be virtually the same diameter as your current rear tires. The 255s might rub a little. I have the 235/70-15s on the front of my 84 Custom Cruiser (which is the same as your car from the front doors forward) on 15x7 zero-offset rims (that's about 3.75" backspace) with no fitment problems.

ok thanks for the tire tip, maybe 235/70/15 is a better option then.. i have a friend that soon shift out his rear 255/60/15 tires, maybe i can try them on my rims in front first.

but since my front tires are new i choose to use them first

EDIT: I found 225/70/15 tires on the tire shop, they are close to my rear tires (+2.2%) and the orginal dim (1.1%) ..i think i will go for that size in front next time if i choose bigger wheels in front

Ah, I just went and did. Apparently I plunked down the numbers for the 205/75/15 instead of the 215/75/15. That's why there was a discrepancy with your numbers. I do agree with your sizing - it works out the same for me.

FWIW, I ran 235/75/15 on my 83 Ninety Eight Regency Brougham and had no rubbing or clearance issues at all.

Sorry, I thought he was talking about the rear looking odd.
