Front suspension

I started this tread in major builds. Here's my problem. I replaced all bushings with Poly. New springs from OPG. I changed from drum to disc. New ball joints. I have the car on jack stands and front frame rails are level. When I measure from the ground to the center of the hub, there is a 1.5 inch difference. What could be the issue. Springs in wrong? Will send pics later. Do I need to take apart and start over? Please help.

Why are you measuring anything with it up in the air?

When I had the tires on it and sitting on the ground it wasn't sitting straight. So I was thinking the frame may not be straight. So I jacked it up and put it on stands. Ran a straight edge and level across the frame rails and it was level. I noticed the passenger side tire was higher than the drivers. Started taking measurements.

Make sure your lower bolts are loose before you tear it down. Might be binding. Loosen, then put back on the ground. The spring might not be seated correctly at the top also.

Suspension bolts should be tightened with the weight of the car on them. Also the assembly manual shows how to properly align the springs. There is a hole in the lower contro arm that the end of the spring needs to align with.

Yes, but remember, he's taking about a 1½" difference when the wheels are hanging down, not when it is sitting on them.

The stop for downward travel is the bottom of the upper control arm hitting the top of the frame, whether there is a strong spring, a weak spring, a misaligned spring, or no spring. There should be a rubber bumper there, and I'd bet a 1½" difference is about you would get if one were missing.

Your saying there is a rubber stop under each of the upper control arms, are the upper control arms firmly in contact with them? I agree that the Aframe bushings need to be tightened with the weight on the suspension, but I don't see it effecting the distance when it's jacked up as Eric said, there are mechanical stops and fixed dimensions.
