front springs

Hello from London, England, UK. My 10 sec 72 Old's Cutlass Supreme sits too high at the front after serious weight loss, ie glass hood and front fender, ally heads and intake etc. I want to get some lowering springs but not eibach as the car sees street and strip use and i need some weight transfer, any suggestions? I was thinking of cutting a coil off the original springs but have been advised not too, what do you say, and if i go for Moroso springs what spring rate should i go for? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Paul, per my last email...I am going to weigh my car Friday and will call Moroso to get the correct spring rate for that weight. I would imagine our cars would be close to weight, the only real difference being the fenders.

I have Aluminum Heads, Intake, lightweight Holley, aluminum brackets, aluminum pulleys, aluminum water pump, and fiberglass hood. I will weigh my car at both the halfway mark (halfway between front and back wheels) and the whole car. Keep this thread alive and we'll figure it all out.

I want mine to sit just like 507Olds does...I wanna say he told me he used 190 spring rate Moroso's on his. I'm not sure.
